Were I to become you, I would be the best masochist. I have felt this in my veins for many years. I don’t flinch. I love being cruel. I know how to seduce another into dying without fear. Anticipating my lover’s arousal, intimidation, how it lubricates glands and makes all organs stand on end, kills all possibilities of Princes, Knights, Kings, Rescuers, Vigilantes, Pirates, Daddies.

 

Bio:
Marissa Perel  is an artist and writer based in New York. Her interdisciplinary work includes performance, installation, criticism and curatorial projects. Her installations and performances have been shown throughout the U.S. and abroad. She originated the column, "Gimme Shelter: Performance Now" for Art21 Magazine, was editor of Critical Correspondence, the on-line dance and performance journal of Movement Research, and is featured in BOMBlog, Drunken Boat, and the Performance Club, among others. She received her M.F.A from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and her B.A. from Naropa University.
