Asiya Wadud’s first book, crosslight for youngbird, is forthcoming from Nightboat Books, fall 2018. Her recent work can be found in The Felt, SUBLEVEL, The Recluse, PEN Poetry Series, and Sixth Finch among other publications. She is a current Lower Manhattan Cultural Council Process Space resident and her work has also been supported by Provincetown Fine Arts Work Center, Home School Hudson, Brooklyn Poets, and Dickinson House (Belgium). In the daytime she teaches second grade and in the nighttime she teaches English to recently arrived immigrants. She lives in Brooklyn, New York.
